uBITX Firmware CEC Version 1.075 (Beta) Release

Version 1.07x is a test version for new attempts.
Version 1.061 is a stable version with most features implemented. 
There are also various versions based on Version 1.04 or Version 1.06 by other developers.

Since version 1.073, there are five .HEX files distributed.
Upload the version for your LCD mounted on your uBITX.
UBITX_CEC_Vxxxxx_16P.hex  : It is the LCD equipped with uBITX. Default LCD, 16x02 Parallel LCD
UBITX_CEC_Vxxxxx_16I.hex  : 16x02 I2C LCD
UBITX_CEC_Vxxxxx_20P.hex  : 20x04 Parallel LCD
UBITX_CEC_Vxxxxx_20I.hex  : 20x04 I2C LCD
UBITX_CEC_Vxxxxx_16D.hex  : 16x02 I2C Dual LCD

It does not matter if you make a mistake. But the screen just does not come out.
If you make a mistake, just upload another hex file.

Version 1.074 has been skipped without deployment.

3.Changes since Version 1.073
3.1 Change S.Meter (Signal Meter) display method
  If you want to delay the S.Meter change, you need to modify the S.Meter sensor's capacitors.

3.2 Fixed S.Meter bug
 S.Meter did not process correctly according to ADC Value.

3.3 Modification of S.Meter related protocol for CAT communication
  I tested it using the Ham radio deluxe program.

3.4 Add recovery mode (such as Factory Reset)
  Backs up the settings used when shipped from the factory when installing CEC Firmware. Once backed up, it is no longer backed up.
 Even if you update the firmware afterwards, the information such as the once-backed calibration is retained.
If you have not done calibration before buying uBITX, you can proceed with factory reset at any time.

4.Changes in uBITX Manager V1.05
4.1 Add S.Meter assistant to uBITX Manager
 You can set up any hardware for S.Meter.

4.2 Load Factory Setting
It is a function to restore uBITX with the setting information backed up when CEC Firmware is installed for the first time.
Of course, this function can be used without uBITX Manager.

4.3 Protected Backup Data
It is a function that protects backup data even if you accidentally modified the backup data. Checked by default. You do not need to learn this feature when using uBITX Manager.

The uBITX recovery function will be posted separately.

CEC firmware is based on uBITX, which has not modified anything.
No hardware modifications are required to upload CEC firmware.

Beginning with Version 1.075, the factory settings are backed up.
It is better if you have never done a calibration.

Even if you prefer Stock Firmware, it is recommended to upload CEC Firmware about once. If you do so, your calibration settings will be automatically backed up to EEProm. You can always go back to Stock Firmware.

Perhaps this version will be released to Version 1.08 after minor modifications at the end of the test.

I purchased some hardware to add functionality at the request of users.
I want to have a good time with the purchased hardware after releasing Version 1.08.

How to upgrade uBITX Firmware

uBITX is based on Arduino Nano. So uBITX's firmware upgrade method is the same as Arduino.
There are two ways to upgrade the firmware of uBITX.

The first is to compile the source from the Arduino IDE, and the second is to upload the compiled hex file using the Firmware Upgrade Tool.

I'll show you how to upload a compiled hex file as a second method.

1.Connect the uBITX's USB cable to the computer.

2.Run Device Manager on your computer.
  The way to open the Device Manager for each OS Version differs slightly.
  In most Windows, you can easily launch the Device Manager by running.

  On your computer, press the Windows key + R.

 Type devmgmt.msc and press OK Button.

On most operating systems, there will be a serial port named Ports with CH340. If so, the next step is skipped.

Included in uBITX is the Adonano, which uses the CH340 USB To UART part.

Download the latest CH340 driver from the Internet.

uBITX Firmware CEC Version v1.06 (changed v1.061)

I deployed 1.06 and received feedback from WSPR's beta tester, Philip (G7JUR).
It was a problem that the LPF was not automatically selected according to band selection during WSPR transmission.

I modified it soon and changed uBITX Firmware CEC Version to 1.061.
uBITX Manager also changed Version to 1.01.


I released version 1.06 which added WSPR function to uBITX.
Beta testers have been very helpful when embedding WSPR functionality. WSPR will continue to improve in the future.

By using WSPR before and after QSO, you can check where your uBITX is spreading all over the world.  If uBITX Manager is used to put WSPR information into uBITX, uBITX no longer needs any external device to transmit WSPR.

uBITX Firmware CEC Version 1.06 has been released.

This version of the concept is an upgrade without hardware modifications. No hardware modifications are required to use this firmware. Continuous release and testing has been done in the uBITX group. I tried to put only the basic functions that an HF transceiver should have. The features have been upgraded with the advice of people who have great ideas in the uBITX group.
