Introducing uBITX's Invalid Calibration Symptoms and Recovery Mode
uBITX CEC Firmware supports recovery mode from version 1.075
Of course, we have been using uBITX Manager to back up uBITX's settings so far.
I think this is the best way.


But I have to consider users who can not use uBITX Manager. It is available on Windows and Linux, but it has not yet been verified on the MAC.

I also had to consider users using Stock Firmware. Even if you want to keep using Stock Firmware, upload CEC Firmware only once. Then upload the Stock Firmware again and use it. However, I highly recommend using the backup function of uBITX Manager.
I create various backup files and upload them as needed.
Finally, I have also considered users who use CEC Firmware but have not yet used the backup feature.


1.Introduction to Factory Recovery
uBITX does not have Factory Recovery mode.

uBITX has 0 to 1023 EEProm storage space. but uBITX Stock Firmware uses only addresses from 0 to 31, 32 to 1023 are not used.

Version 1.07x is a test version for new attempts. Version 1.061 is a stable version with most features implemented.  There are also various versions based on Version 1.04 or Version 1.06 by other developers.

Since version 1.073, there are five .HEX files distributed.
Upload the version for your LCD mounted on your uBITX.

Creating a simple S-Meter Sensor for uBITX
There are various ways to attach S.Meter to uBITX. You can find things on the Internet that are far superior to what I have created.

1.Parts list
1N4148 * 1 LM386  * 1 Capacitor (1nF ~ 40nF) * 1
  (Marked : 1nF : 102, 1.5nF : 152, 40nF:403)
  I Used : 1.5nF (152)

Resistor (4.7k ~ 20k ) * 1
  I Used : 4.7K

Capacitor 10uF * 1 : Option
  (I did not use it to use minimum parts, but if you have an extra 10uF, please use it.)

Capacitor and Resistor have different display type of S.Meter depending on values.
The larger the capacity of the capacitor, the slower the S.Meter moves from High to Low. I used 1.5nF (152) because I need to move quickly for testing.

The reason for choosing the LM386 is because it is cheap and the operation is reliable.

I have received many questions about Calibration. Let me write about the experience that people and people around me have done so far. The calibration method of CEC Firmeare is the same as the original firmware. Most of the following are my experiences. I thought uBITX failed after calibration failed. After analyzing the source, I noticed that the calibration was quite difficult to succeed.

A.Must Read Before Calibration
The calibration method of CEC Firmeare is the same as the original firmware.
