Disassembly of Baofeng UV-5R

I was able to see if I could control the frequency of the UV-5R.
How? Open the Cover and look!

if you want to completely disassembled the UV-5R, you will have to find the hidden screw under the LCD.

The MCU ( MB95F013K) shown in the picture below is the main controller of the transceiver.

and The RF Controller (Left chip marked - 1846 - RDA1846) shwon in the picture covers VHF and UHF.

http://www.radiomanual.info/schemi/Vari/Baofeng_UV-3R_RDA-1846_prog.pdf

VHF :  134~174MHz, 200~260MHz (but, only 134~174 VHF present on UV-5R)
UHF : 400~520MHz

RDA1846 has as 24Mhz oscillator connected,

if you replaced other frequency osclillator, perhap the frequency ramge pf use of the radio will change.

Components such as filters due to frequency changes will have to change together.
